Our investment management service is tailored to
your goals, your time horizon, and your life. Having a wealth
management firm to assist you and a current investment policy
statement in place can help you avoid emotionally-driven
mistakes and have your asset mix updated as your life and
financial objectives change. Some of the key tenets in our
investment management strategies are:
Diversification and Asset Allocation
Traditional asset allocation refers to the way in which you
weight investments in your portfolio in order to try to meet a
specific objective. The asset classes you choose, and how you
weight your investment in each, will hinge on your investment
time frame and how that matches with the risks and rewards of
each asset class. At WMS, we expand this traditional view and
layer on strategic, tactical and goal-based allocation strategies.
Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation
Strategic Asset Allocation is the long-term investment strategy
that creates an optimal blend of asset classes while placing
little emphasis on short-term fluctuations.
Tactical Asset Allocation is the short-term component of
asset allocation strategies and attempts to capitalize on
markets conditions to protect assets or achieve superior
investment returns.
WMS will construct diversified strategic portfolios as a
baseline for each client and then will tactically recommend
adjustments in the portfolio concentrations as market
conditions or your goals dictate.
Goal-Based Allocations
WMS incorporates a next generation goal-based investing
philosophy into our investment strategy and asset allocation
designs. Unlike the traditional risk tolerance approach where
all of your investment assets are aggregated and allocated
based upon your maximum risk tolerance, we segregate
your assets by each goal and develop allocations with the
appropriate risk tolerance and capacity.
For example, your financial independence assets "lifestyle
capital" could have an investment plan design that prioritizes
success over maximizing return, thereby minimizing
investment risk. Your legacy assets "succession capital" could
be just the opposite approach and set to maximize returns for
successive generations.
Broad Strategy Set
WMS has a broad selection of investment and management
strategies which enables us to evaluate each client situation
and apply appropriate investment recommendations.
Asset allocation is a method of diversification that positions assets among mahor investment categories. This tool may be used in an effort to manage risk and enhance returns. Asset Allocation does not assure a profit, nor does it protect against lost in declining markets.
